Twórcy przygotowali preview obejmujący Scytów, Sarmatów i Saków.

Hello mates!

It is time to show you nomadic tribes.

First of all I want to thank:
Ahiga for some of steppe tunics, wicker shields and hats
Kuauik for new hats/bandana models
Little Legionaire for some shield patterns
EB team for some history info and unit names
Comrades from Russian TW community for tons of historical information

Nomadic tribes divided for 3 main subcultures: Scythian, Sarmatian and Saka (Saka actually means the "scythian", but it's fair enough to separate western hellenized Scythians with easterners)

Scythians

Being in contact with Greek colonies Scythians got much of Hellenic influence, so you will see linothoraxes, kopis swords, aspis shields, helmets and so on.
Historically Scythians were conquered by Sarmatians pretty quick, so it's hard to say how late Scythians would look, but I'm sure there would be some Sarmatian influence

Sarmatians

Meet the great people who bring the completely new cavalry tactics and armour style to Europe. Type of mount and two handed lance holding actually called as "Sarmatian seat". Romans were so inspired of this combat style and this heavy armour so they tried to use the same tactics. But it was very hard to train new style cavalry soldiers, so later 8000 Sarmatians were hired to serve at Roman army. Later Romans had more and more mercenaries from the Steppe.

Saka

Great tribes from Aria, Middle Asia and Altai regions. Some of them like Dahae were very familiar to well known Parthians. These far lands had a great war history and famous metalwork traditions.
This people could set probably the heaviest shock cavalry in known world.
You will also see some eastern looking units - they are people mostly from Hircania region
