Installing XGM-Diadochi
1. Start with a patched and unmodified install of RTW:BI (version 1.6) or RTW:ALX (version 1.9).
2. Run the Diadochi (xgmD) installer.
3. Run the game using the Diadochi shortcut installed on your desktop.
Mod Folder: Diadochi installs to its own mod folder and does not change any of the original game files. You can use the Diadochi shortcut to run the mod, or the original RTW shortcut to run the unmodified game.
Barbarian Invasion: By default, XGM - Diadochi requires the presence of the BI executable to run. If you do not have BI installed, the game will not run.
Alexander: If you have the Alexander expansion pack installed, the Diadochi installer will automatically detect it and use the ALEX exe to run Diadochi. This enables some Alex features that are not available with the BI exe and ultimately make the game and its AI much better.
Install Options: When you run the Diadochi installer you will be presented with several options that affect game-play. You can change these by running the installer again.
Fatigue: Fatigue causes units to become tired or exhausted over time during battle. Fortunately, all units in Diadochi have more stamina, so it should be more manageable, but the AI still does not know how to manage the fatigue of its troops, so fatigue is switched off by default in Diadochi. You will be given an option to switch it on when you install it again. Changes in the fatigue setting will only affect new campaigns.
Prometheus Cities: A set of improved models for Greek and Roman cities on the strategic map.
Alexander EXE: If you have the Alexander expansion installed this option will set up Diadochi to run with the Alexander exe. This might provide better AI performance, and it will fix the "unit scattering" bug. Some BI features, including hording factions and shield wall, will not be available.
Compatibility Notes:
Diadochi requires RTW:BI 1.6 or RTW:ALX 1.9 to work.
Diadochi requires an unmodified RTW data directory to work. It probably will not work if you have installed any mod that overwrites files in the RTW data directory.
Saved games from Diadochi v0.9.0 onwards will probably work with this version of Diadochi. Saved games from older versions will not work.
Non-xgmD saved games will not work with Diadochi.
Multiplayer will only work if other players have the same version of this this mod installed.
